Mini Muses

Went gift hunting at Lakeshore Record Excahnge here in good old Rochester and dug up some interesting finds.  Of course, it is always when you don’t have a lot of cash when you happen to find the long missing items on your wish list…

Case in point, they had the first two Kraftwerk albums on vinyl (I’m assuming they were newer bootlegs, but who’s counting…).  Since the first three albums from the band have yet to have an official reissue within the last twenty years or more, it’s no surprise thatunofficial reissues have surfaced.  At any rate, they had the first two for about 25$ per record, and i am still tempted to trek back up there to grab them.

Kraftwerk, as many folks know, are hailed as one of the first groups to “create” electronic music as we know it today– yes there were others but that’s a whole other entry–  but before then, they were krautrockers.  The sound on the first three is nothing like what would follow them.

On that note, here’s a list I unearthed that features some of the highlights of the krautrock releases:

I know for me, it’s a genre I’ve not explored enough.

About Nick H.

I'm a geek for music whether it be on vinyl, CD, 78 or whatever. My goal is to sniff out the greated music on Earth, specializing in the obscure. I make music myself as well, mostly ambient and sound collage (1 album out and a few remixes so far). I work full time as a professional mascot (it pays the pills) but will soon retire, i hope.
